    Childhood trauma linked to schizophrenia

    The FINANCIAL -- Researchers at the University have found that children who experience severe trauma are three times as likely to develop schizophrenia in later life.

    Family etiology
    Arieti then describes the psychogenic factors that lead to the disorder. The family environment and psychodynamics in the etiology of psychosis comes under scrutiny. Arieti describes the building of neurotic and psychotic defense mechanisms; the emerging schizoid personality, and fully developed schizophrenia understood as an injury to the inner self. Arieti believes that a state of extreme anxiety originating in early childhood produces vulnerability for the whole life of the individual.
    A characteristic of Homo sapiens is a prolonged childhood with a consequently extended dependency on adults. This, according to Arieti, "is the basis of the psychodynamics of schizophrenia", a claim that also appears in later writers on child abuse such as Alice Miller and Colin Ross. Arieti reviews the paper by Frieda Fromm-Reichmann about the "schizophrenogenic" mother and reaches the tentative conclusion that only 25 percent of the mothers of schizophrenics in his clinical experience fit that image. However, he adds that only in a minority of schizophrenia cases "the child is able to retain the good maternal image". Arieti also mentions the work of Theodore Lidz, another trauma model author of schizophrenia. Like Lidz, Arieti emphasizes the weakness of the father of the schizophrenic patient in the paternal role. In Arieti's own words:
    In the first edition of this book I have described one family constellation [...] when a domineering, nagging and hostile mother, who gives the child no chance to assert himself, is married to a dependent, weak man, who is too weak to help the child [...]. In these families the weak parent [...] becomes antagonistic and hostile toward the children because [...] he displaces his anger from the spouse to the children, as the spouse is too strong to be a suitable target.
    The roles can be reversed when the domineering spouse is the father. Arieti is convinced that each schizophrenia case is representative of those human situations in which something went extremely wrong. "If we ignore it, we become deaf to a profound message that the patient may try to convey". For example, Arieti states about one of his patients that "his adolescence was a crescendo of frustration, anxiety and injury to self-esteem".

    In Part three of Interpretation of schizophrenia Arieti describes how in spite of its efforts to stay in reality, the patient's defenses finally succumb. When the patient "cannot change the unbearable situation of himself any longer, he has to change reality".

    My Family has been horribly abused by the Lackawanna Family court GAL Danielle Ross She put my children in the hands of a phedophile,the courtt system knows who we are and they abused our family by not protecting my babies even though my child screamed out for help,his step mother and Danielle Ross helped put my children in his hands MAURICE WAYNE HUNTING III is now in jail for up to 110 years.. And his parents have my girls for i was told not to go for custody or any contavt in any way for it would ruine case about my other child for they would try to get mis trial because of how many time my other child came out and told all of then including the CAC PEAGUSUS counclers doctors and danielle ross to her face and they all tried to turn it around on me the protective parent like i would tell my baby to say sick horrid nightmarish thoughts.I was trying to protect my children and lackawanna co, turned their back on us,and still are I need my children away from his parents they are trying to take my parental rights away and adopt my to girls, they begged the judge to not let me know of them tying to adopt my girls. Court is on Jan 8th and i can't find any councle because every one is prob to scared for the all know they did wrong and put my babies in a child rapists hands, they listened to his step mom and money instead of the words coming out of my babies mouth starting in 07 and that scared my other child into not saying what mr. Hunting did to her cause no one would listen to her baby sister and believe her so she thought no one would listen to her. we all miss my two girls so much and just want them away from these people whom are truely trying to hide the truth by keeping my children from me and their 5 other siblings that yes i do have custody of, they only took my two girls from me because of the guardians recommendations, of sexual alligations...and kept those recomenddATIONS in the change of venue to wyoming co. tunkhannock so now both counties are guilty..please if anyone has any ideas please let me know i just want my babies back safe with their family where they belong..they should never of been removed from me i was trying to protect my children and the family court system stopped me.. DANIELLE ROSS AND GAL PROGRAM along with CYS whom broke so many court orders it's sickening..look up my FACE BOOK JOANN BENDER also on my wall where i put up links to where lackawanna is corrupt and they know it, and the petitions on causes..please help for i know our case will some how help in fixing and exposing the whole truth on the family court system in Lackawanna co. and maybe a domino effect may occur and alot of children may be saved and some changes made in the conditions of protecting our WORLDS CHILDREN THAT DESERVE PROTECTING>>Shame these court systems think of money first and not the welfare of our children..MONEY CANNOT REPLACE LIFE AND INNOCFENCE OF CHILDREN THAT ARE HAVING IT STOLEN FROM THEM AND THE ONE'S WHOM TAKES OATHS TO PROTECT OUR YOUNG HELP HAND THEM TO THEIR ABUSERS>>JOANN BENDER ON FACE BOOK AND (TRUST WHO)ON DISQUS>my email is jkbmom123@hotmail.com.
